Internship – The application process
We accept volunteers on an ongoing basis, as well as offering formally structured internships. As Volunteers at Golden Tree Gallery you will be involved in greeting visitors, events and programs, and undertake a range of specialised duties, including assisting with the gallery’s archive and research library.
By joining you will connect with artists and the arts community, and participate in public programs such as talks, panel discussions, shows and more as well as the programs designed for the volunteers; artist studio trails, floor talks with exhibiting artists and morning tea events are only few’s from opportunities and gain an unique experience in the world of art & culture.
Putting in one’s time as an intern is an important career stepping stone—a way to gain key on-the-job skills, experiences, and connections for art-world success.
We encourage internship because that’s how you not only gain professional proficiency, but make connections and become a known quantity in the field. Our program aims to support diversity throughout the entire art organisation workforce, not just among curators.
If Art is your interest please sign up as a volunteer and offer your valuable support to the daily operations of the gallery. The volunteer team assist in a wide variety of roles including (but not limited to) front of house and gallery duties and providing assistance with public programs and events.
You will need to demonstrate potential and show a passion for what we do.

We want to provide routes into the arts sector for as many people as possible, so have a number of ways in which we recruit for internship opportunities. Some internships are recruited to through universities who partner with us for placements that are linked to specific courses. We also partner with other local organisations and charities.
Our internship programme is open to everyone over 16th. Every application will be considered equally without regard to disability, gender, nationality, race, religion and belief or sexual orientation.
If you have already undertaken an internship in the arts sector in the past, or have already gained similar experience, an internship at Golden Tree Gallery may not be right for you. You might like to explore our current vacancies instead.
